My Nexus 5 battery is toast. Any suggestions where to buy the replacement battery? Counterfeits abound. Thanks.

5, not the 5x? I thought that one is no longer supported. I’ve got an old one on my shelf somewhere.

iFixit still carries old Nexus 5 parts. Keep in mind this is new old stock and is still several years old even if it has never been used.

Thanks for the tip. I prefer paying for NOS over paying $7 for what is likely a counterfeit, based upon what I am seeing and reading, or any sort of off-brand. My current battery must have like 1,000 cycles on it.

iFixit is my goto for repair parts and instructions. They also make some awesome small tool kits.

I want to upgrade to a used Pixel, but I can’t justify the expense when my N5 is slogging along just fine, other than the battery. Battery has seemed to be sagging for some months now, but recently is losing its charge rather rapidly. I’m keeping it plugged into a charger most of the time in recent days. The video on YouTube looks like it’s easy to swap out the battery. I’ve serviced many laptops, replaced battery and HDD on an old iPod Classic, but this will be my first cell phone job. My daughter’s fiance said he replaced his N5 battery no sweat, and he’s not much of a handyman.

I love my Pixel but I wish I sprung for the 128GB model instead of the 32gb model. I have been rather tight on storage space for a few months now.

And no SD slot? I haven’t priced them on Swappable lately. The Pixel has been holding it’s value.

Sorry, can’t help w/ battery suggestions; I just roll the dice on Amazon.

Have you found a permanent fix for the power button issue? I have an N5 collecting dust because I don’t want to spend ~$70 to have the power button replaced again.

Google hates the idea of removable storage and no Nexus or Pixel since the original Nexus One has had an SD card slot.
